Make this heatwave go away!
After our epically hot Monday of 100 degrees the parched land finally got a drink of water yesterday. Unfortunately, it was only a little sip in my neck of the woods, and then the heat is supposed to ramp up for the rest of the week. Looks like I’ll be giving some supplemental water to the garden in the next few days.
In the meantime, I kicked back indoors the way you always should on a rainy day: with a book, some tea, and homemade strawberry rhubarb crisp.
The book is only so-so, but the crisp is mmmmmmmm-delish. Next time more strawberry rhubarb and a little less crumb (I swear I’m not crazy!).
May was a bit of a crazy month, though not that crazy in the garden.
My beds are getting established and starting to take over with the sungolds in the lead as the fastest growers and my cucumber close behind. Every time I make my lunch, whether it’s a sandwich, salad, or pasta, I can’t help but wish for a fresh vine ripened tomato. Soon!!!
